Refund & Cancellation Policy
How cancellation works, and how refund requests are reviewed.
Defined terms carry the meanings given in BeDeeper's shared legal definitions unless expressly redefined here.
In plain language
Cancellation is always available. Refunds are not automatic. You may request a review within the windows below; every request is considered individually. Oil refills are non-refundable.
It reads with:
- Billing details: Billing Policy
- Plain-language answers: Payment & Subscription FAQ
- What happens to your writing if you end your account: Account Termination
1. Cancellation is always available
You may cancel your Explorer or Founding membership at any time. Cancellation is self-serve through the Stripe Customer Portal, reachable from your BeDeeper Settings:
- Open Settings.
- Open the Membership section.
- Choose "Manage subscription."
- In the Stripe portal, cancel or set your membership to end at period end.
Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not by itself delete your account or your writing. Account deletion is separate and is described in Account Termination.
2. Membership — first purchase
Members may request a refund within seven (7) calendar days of their initial membership purchase.
Refunds are not automatic. All refund requests are reviewed individually. Approval or denial of any refund request is at BeDeeper's sole discretion.
This window applies to a first paid membership charge. Submitting a request within the window does not guarantee a refund.
3. Membership renewals
Members must contact BeDeeper within twenty-four (24) hours of a renewal charge to request review of that charge.
Renewal refunds are not automatic. All refund requests are reviewed individually. Approval or denial of any refund request is at BeDeeper's sole discretion.
4. Oil refills
Oil refill purchases are non-refundable.
5. Founding Members
Founding Members follow the exact same refund review process described in this Policy. No special refund rights exist solely because of Founding status.
6. How to ask for a refund
Write to billing@bedeeper.com with:
- The email on your BeDeeper account.
- The date and rough amount of the charge, or the Stripe receipt.
- Whether this is a first membership purchase, a renewal, or another charge.
- A short note (optional) — feedback helps BeDeeper get better.
Submitting a request does not guarantee a refund. Each case is reviewed individually. BeDeeper aims to acknowledge refund requests promptly. When a refund is approved, it is issued through Stripe to the original payment method; banks typically post refunds within five to ten (5–10) business days.
7. Duplicates and billing errors
If you were charged twice for the same period, charged after cancellation, or charged for a plan you did not select, write to the billing contact and include the Stripe receipt or the charge date. BeDeeper will review the claim and correct verified billing errors.
8. Chargebacks
If something is wrong with a charge, please write to us first. We would rather review a refund request than have a chargeback go through the banks. If a chargeback is opened, we may pause paid features while it is being resolved, and we reserve the right to decline future service where a chargeback is used to bypass this Policy repeatedly.
9. Effect of cancellation on Founding
Cancelling a Founding subscription does not immediately erase Founding status. BeDeeper preserves eligibility to return at the Founding rate for a limited grace window as described in Billing Policy.
10. Effect of cancellation on your writing
Cancellation of billing does not delete your account or your writing. Access to paid features may pause at the end of the billing period. Your account and content follow Account Termination, which describes voluntary account deletion, retention windows, and how to export writing before you leave.
11. Governing law and local rights
This Policy is governed by the law stated in BeDeeper's Legal Foundation. Some jurisdictions give consumers refund or withdrawal rights that cannot be waived by a contract — for example, a statutory right of withdrawal for consumers in the European Union or European Economic Area, subject to that framework's rules on already-supplied digital content. Nothing in this Policy takes away those non-waivable rights. Where local law is more generous than this Policy, local law applies.
12. Changes
Substantive changes to this Policy follow the notification convention in Terms of Service and the effective-date convention in BeDeeper's Legal Foundation. A change to the refund posture will never apply retroactively to a charge already made.
13. Contact
Refund and cancellation questions may be sent to billing@bedeeper.com.
