In plain language

BeDeeper is a private sanctuary for adult reflection. It is not designed for children and BeDeeper does not knowingly collect personal information from children. This document explains the age policy and how a parent or guardian may reach us.

1. Age policy

You must be at least sixteen (16) years old to create a BeDeeper account.

  • Where the law of your country sets a higher age of digital consent, that higher age applies.
  • To purchase a paid membership, you must also have the legal capacity to enter a contract where you live.

That is the whole rule. The additional framework references in section 5 (COPPA in the United States, GDPR-K in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, CCPA in California) are safety-net protections BeDeeper honors on top of the 16+ rule — they are not separate minimum ages.

2. Not directed to children

BeDeeper is not directed to children. BeDeeper does not advertise to children, does not offer children-oriented content, and does not use children-directed marketing. The sanctuary is designed for adults doing quiet, private, reflective work.

3. Accounts BeDeeper does not knowingly maintain

BeDeeper does not knowingly maintain an account for a person under the applicable age minimum. If BeDeeper becomes aware that an account has been opened by someone under the minimum, BeDeeper will close the account and delete the personal information collected in connection with it, in line with Account Termination.

BeDeeper's sign-up flow does not currently collect a date of birth. Where BeDeeper adds an explicit age control in the future, this Policy and the sign-up flow will be updated first, and the change will be reflected in BeDeeper's legal consistency review.

4. Parent and guardian requests

If you are a parent, guardian, or person with legal authority to act on behalf of a child, and you believe a BeDeeper account has been created by, or contains personal information of, a person under the applicable age minimum:

  • Please write to privacy@bedeeper.com.
  • Include the email address on the account, if known, and a short description of the concern.
  • BeDeeper may ask for information sufficient to verify your relationship to the child before taking action.

BeDeeper will act on verified requests promptly — closing the account, removing personal information, and confirming action taken.

5. Legal frameworks BeDeeper honors on top of the 16+ rule

The following frameworks operate as safety nets in addition to the 16+ rule in section 1. They are not competing minimums.

  • United States — COPPA. BeDeeper does not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13). If BeDeeper receives such information without knowledge of the child's age, BeDeeper will delete it on verified request.
  • European Economic Area and United Kingdom — GDPR / UK-GDPR (age of digital consent). BeDeeper honors the age of digital consent applicable in the member's country. Where that age is higher than sixteen (16), the higher age applies.
  • California — CCPA / CPRA. BeDeeper does not sell personal information and does not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under sixteen (16).

6. Not clinical care

Nothing in this Policy authorizes use of BeDeeper by a minor. BeDeeper is not a clinical, therapeutic, medical, or educational service and is not appropriate for children even with parental permission. See Wellness Disclaimer and AI Disclaimer.

7. Changes

Substantive changes to this Policy follow the notification convention in Terms of Service and the effective-date convention in BeDeeper's Legal Foundation.

8. Contact
